L'italia ricevette i suoi primi T-33 dagli Usa con il programma MDAP (Mutual Defense Assistance Program) nel 1952 e vennero assegnati al Nucleo Addestramento Velivoli a Reazione sulla base di Amendola e divenne la colonna portante per l'addestramento dei piloti fino alla messa in servizio dell'MB-326E.
