Major General Jaromír Šebesta, the new commander of the Air Force of the Czech Republic, during his visit in Aero Vodochody agreed that the first customer to use L-39NG aircraft should be the Czech Republic through the state owned LOM PRAHA company, namely its Flight Training Centre division in Pardubice. The Flight Training Centre should become a training centre for the whole Central-Eastern Europe in the next years.

MG Šebesta visited Aero for a first time since he was appointed as the Air Force Commander. Management of Aero presented him the new strategy of the company that will focus on manufacturing of proprietary aircraft, specifically the L-159 light attack aircraft and the L-39NG, new generation of the legendary jet trainer.

"The Czech Army is a long-term strategic partner to Aero and we consider its reference as a key to future success of the project. And the interest of the LOM PRAHA, Flight Training Centre is also an important signal to other potential customers," said Giuseppe Giordo, President and CEO of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s.

About the L-39NG

The L-39NG aircraft is a modern and effective trainer designed as a unified, comprehensive training system for modern air forces. The L-39NG is based on the aerodynamic concept of the current L-39, but utilizes the latest technologies and equipment. Power is provided by the highly modern FJ44-4M engine supplied with the TAP Blue engine support service to ensure unprecedented airworthiness and predictable maintenance costs. The aircraft's avionics are prepared to train future pilots of 4th and 5th generation aircraft and can be tailored to the customer's requirements to a great extent. The L-39NG is equipped with five mounting points for weapons. The aircraft also features a broad range of simulation technologies, including the integration into high-tech tactical simulation centres with the goal of increasing training efficiency.
